What Shoulder Labral Tears Actually Is
Labral injuries range from age-related fraying to SLAP tears in overhead athletes to Bankart lesions after a dislocation. Not every labral finding on an MRI is the cause of the pain — many are incidental. The exam and a diagnostic guided injection determine whether the labrum is actually the pain generator before anything is treated.
